Temple picture house Glasgow, postcard

Temple Picture House was opened by Andrew Wardrop in 1917. Of basic construction, the building was brick, covered in roughcast, with wooden roof trusses supported the roof topped with West Highland grey slate. The pay box was on the left of the main door and the projection

room was protected by asbestos lined doors due to the risk of fire from the nitrate film stock in use at the time. Although the cinema closed in 1924, it's reasonable to assume that it would not have survived the coming of sound to Glasgow in 1929 anyway.
