The GFT "stars" logo was introduced in April 1983 as part of this new style brochure.
Improvements to the cinema were also announced including new seats, Dolby stereo and an "enlarged bookstall" selling books, magazines, posters and soundtrack albums.
Nicolas Roeg, director of Don't Look Now and Walkabout gave a Guardian Lecture at GFT in June 1983 and in September the GFT followed the trend set by other cinemas and began opening seven days a week.
